Fellow Residents of Bedford:

My name is William (Bill) Carter and I am running for Bedford Town Council on March 10th, 2020 because I believe I can assist in keeping the towns tax rate stable and preserve the character of our town.

I have been on a journey to better understand what the residents of Bedford are looking for and what is needed in the town. I am a member of the Bedford Conservation Committee. I attend the monthly meetings of the Town Council, ZBA, and the Planning Board. My wife, Jane, and I participate in town events.

The “charm” of Bedford is what brought Jane and I to Bedford. The small town feel and open spaces made our decision an easy one. Many are trying to change the character of Bedford. We need to keep “Bedford’s Charm”.

The town of Bedford continues to evolve but we need to be smart in how we move forward. We need to be cautious and thoughtful about our decisions and how they will affect the residents in the town. We need a Town Council who listens to the concerns of the town.

As stated by Michael Josephson, “Character is both formed and revealed by how one deals with everyday situations as well as extraordinary pressures and temptations. Like a well-made tower, character is built stone by stone, decision by decision”.

On March 10th, I ask for your vote for Town Council.

Respectfully Yours,
Bill
